The photos show a heavily camouflaged JL Wrangler Unlimited with black coverings over its hood, front fenders and rear end. They don’t reveal too much we didn’t already know however some different black wheels shod in very aggressive off-road rubber are seen, suggesting this may be a Rubicon example or another kind of rugged model variant.
The Wrangler JL is expected to debut with a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine paired with an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. FCA’s 2.0-liter turbocharged ‘Hurricane’ four-cylinder engine is also expected to be offered, with a Wrangler JL prototype with its hood up having been spied last year. A hybrid Wrangler will also arrive in 2021 or beyond.
Apart from the powertrain differences, the Wrangler JL will adopt more modern, refined styling and a comfier cabin. New roof options are also in store including a power folding soft top, a hardtop with a panoramic sunroof and a partially retracting hardtop.
