If you’re the type of person who took one look at the Ram Rebel or Ram Power Wagon and thought “that not manly enough for me,” then American Expedition Vehicles may have constructed just the vehicle for you: the all-new Ram Prospector XL Tray Bed.
The Prospector XL Tray Bed is based on the Ram 2500 Regular Cab Long Bed, but apart from the cab and engine, not much of the stock truck remains. The biggest change is the addition of a lightweight aluminum Tray Bed, which is also joined by a heavy duty stamped steel front bumper, a custom fabbed rear bumper, a DualSport SC Suspension system with a 3-inch lift and 17-inch Katla wheels shod in massive 41-inch tires.
Other features include a heat reducing hood, a hydraulic steering upgrade, fender flares, a Warn winch, front and rear air lockers, available differential covers, a full-size spare tire mount, retractable side steps, an AEV black painted grille and AEV 20th anniversary badges.
AEV will build just 10 Ram Prospector XL Tradesmans. The conversion will cost $38,345 on top of the price of a standard Ram 2500 Tradesman. If the conversion is based on the higher level Ram 2500 SLT, the conversion will cost $38,455.
