Last year we shared with you the insane Alfa Romeo 4C hillclimb racer built by Picchio for Marco Gramenzi. We thought that car was the most extreme-possible interpretation of an Alfa Romeo 4C, but we were wrong. Very wrong.
Gramenzi and his 4C have returned to the European hillclimb circuit for 2017, but this time his car has a Zytek Formula 3000 V8 engine where the 600 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine used to be. The aerodynamics were also played with pretty heavily and new steering setup was also installed for better feel.
As you might imagine, Gramenzi’s F3000-powered 4C now makes quite a racket. Furthermore, with that Zytek motor making a healthy 450 horsepower and the lightweight 4C tipping the scales at just 700kgs (about 1,543 lbs), it’s also very fast.
Don’t take our word for it, though. See for yourself by watching the car in action in the video embedded above, which comes courtesy of YouTube’s 19Bozzy92.
