In the mid-1970s, Jeep introduced a special variant of its CJ 5 Renegade that perfectly catered to the casual crowd that typically flocks to Jeeps. The CJ 5 ‘Levi’s Edition’ was an optional package that added Denim-inspired accents to the off-roader’s dash, seats and elsewhere – and one of these rare beasts has recently popped up for sale on BringATrailer.
The CJ 5 Levi’s Edition, offered from 1975 to 1986, was set apart from standard CJ 5s by its simulated Levi’s style stitching, denim dashboard padding and a jean-like blue top. While many Jeeps live a hard life and spend their days caked in dirt or plowing through mud, this CJ 5 Levi’s Edition was garage kept its entire life. Furthermore, the current seller is only the second owner and bought the vehicle off of the first owner in 2005. They’ve put just 4,000 miles on it since, bringing the mileage to a mere 49,000 miles.
A recent service to the vehicle included new shocks and the engine also underwent a service about 400 miles ago. The original shop manual, folding top instructions and plow manual are also included in the sale, along with records of service completed by the second owner. The bidding is currently at $8,500, which isn’t so bad for a collectable Jeep that would make a great candidate for a restoration.
