The 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is sort of old news now that the 808 horsepower Dodge Demon has broken cover, but the Hellcat is not to be underestimated – it’s still the second most powerful muscle car Detroit has ever produced.
A YouTube user recently filmed a Challenger Hellcat accelerating from a stop light in Poland and doing a smoky burnout as it pulled away. The 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 is producing so much power, in fact, that the driver shifts all the way from 1st to seventh gear while spinning the tires the whole time.
If anything, this video is a good demonstration as to why the Dodge Demon needs such wide tires out back. We recall driving a Hellcat for the first time and being astounded at the amount of wheel hop produced as the traction control system worked frantically to deliver the power to the rear wheels without spinning them up. If you turn that traction control system off, this is the result.
