General Motors’ Hummer brand might be dead, but U.S. Speciality Vehicles will build you a Jeep Wrangler JK-based, Hummer-inspired off-roader that’s equally as tough called the Rhino XT. The Rhino XT looks like a military vehicle, has the interior of a luxury car and a supercharged Pentastar V6 engine that’s powerful enough to get it out of ditches, up hills and over rocks – but USSV has now turned the wick up on the Rhino XT.
According to Fox News, USSV is currently building a Rhino XT with the 707 horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8. Details remain scarce, but USSV said they’ve also upgraded the transmission and installed heavy duty driveshafts and differentials. When you really look at it, what USSV has built is a luxurious, futuristic-looking, Hellcat-powered Wrangler JK. What’s not to like about that?
The Hellcat-powered Rhino XT is being built for a famous country music star that couldn’t be named. It’s not clear if more than one will be built, but seeing as it can be rather hard to source a Hellcat V8 engine, we doubt there’s many other people that would want to fork over the cash required. Even the standard, V6-powered Rhino XT is rather pricy at $75,000, so the one-off Hellcat version would reach well into the six-figure range.
We’ll have more details on the Rhino XT Hellcat when they become available. In the meantime, you can catch the standard Rhino XT on the big screen in the latest instalment in the Fast and the Furious Franchise, The Fate of the Furious. The film, which opened last week, stars several Mopar vehicles including the 808 horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
