One of the many rare pieces of Plymouth history to go under the gavel at Mecum’s upcoming Indianapolis Auctions is an immaculate and unrestored 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda 426.
The Banana Yellow Hemi Cuda is a numbers matching R-Code example with 6,130 original miles on the odometer. Mopar enthusiast Richard Heidbreder sought out this car specifically for his collection and performed no modifications or paint work during his ownership of the car. The only non original piece is black vinyl top, which was added well before Heidbreder took ownership and was thus left on the car.
Some features of this rare R-Code Cuda include the optional N96 Shaker hood, a Rallye instrument cluster with tach, bucket seats with a center console, dual exhaust with chrome tips (all original), a solid state AM radio, road lamps, hood pins, black ‘Hockey’ stripes and Rallye wheels with Goodyear Polyglas GT tires. The car will be sold fully documented and comes with the original broadcast sheet.
Some other eye-catching Mopar lots to be sold at Mecum Indy, which will be held from May 16th to the 21st, include a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird, a 1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda and a 1969 Road Runner. Follow this link to view all Mopar lots to be sold at the auction.
