New spy shots could hint the arrival of a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon-inspired version of the Dodge Charger sedan.
A Road & Track reader recently caught a Dodge Charger prototype on Michigan ‘M’ manufacturer plates driving on the highway in Michigan. This is a common sight to local Michiganders, but making it somewhat unexpected was the presence of extra-wide wheels and tires on the prototype car, raising all sorts of questions as to what Dodge may be up to.
As you may know, Dodge Challenger prototypes with wider wheels and tires were spotted testing during the vehicle’s development. It’s possible Dodge is cooking up a high-power, widebody version of the Charger to compliment the Demon, just as it did with the Hellcat twins. This seems a bit far fetched, but knowing the mad people over at Dodge and SRT, we’re not ruling anything out.
