In February we reported that a Ferrari F430 formerly owned by U.S. President Donald Trump (and thus the only Ferrari to have ever been owned by a U.S. president) was to be sold by Auctions America. The Ferrari has now found a new home – though it sold for less than experts had estimated.
The red Ferrari took in $270,000 at the sale, which is much more than most used F430s sell for, but wasn’t the $350,000 sum many had thought the presidential prancing horse might grab. The car shows 6,000 miles on the odometers, 2,400 of which were put on by Trump, and was sold in excellent order with the owners manual, tool kit, car cover, battery charger and full service records included.
Trump purchased the 2007 model year Ferrari new and kept it for four years before selling it in 2011. It was the second owner that listed it for sale through Auctions America, not the president himself. The auction house declined to say who bought the world’s only presidential Ferrari, but we’re willing to guess it was someone looking to make an investment. Ferraris typically go up in value when they aren’t owned by high profile individuals, so we’re expecting this car to be worth even more than $270k one day.
