Italian federal authorities famously keep a couple of police-prepped Lamborghini Huracans around for highway patrol and rapid emergency response purposes, but the local police in Milan aren’t letting the state ‘polizia‘ have all the fun.
In September 2015, police in Milan confiscated a Ferrari 458 Spider as part of an investigation into a local mafia member. Italian police can request to hold on to some of the property they seize and not surprisingly, the cops in Milan wanted to hold onto the drop-top prancing horse.
According to CarScoops, Milan police brought the car to local armoured car upfitters Carrozzeria Marazzi Caronno Pertusella, who applied a police livery and rear-mounted blue police lights to the supercar at no cost. They intend to use the car at public events around Milan, raising awareness and telling children about the drawbacks of a life of crime. Illegal activities may make you enough money to buy a Ferrari – but one day you’ll be in jail and a policeman will be driving around in your car with a smug smile on his face.
