The Jeep Wrangler JL could feature a retractable hard top roof, new close-up spy photos of the next-gen Jeep’s interior have revealed.
The photos, captured by a sharp-eyed JL Wrangler Forums member in Los Angeles, show the roof of the driver and passenger section of the cabin, revealing a set of switches that appear to be controls for the roof panel. The assumption is that the front two roof panels will retract like a sunroof but will also be entirely removable for those extra clear sunny days, just like the Jeep Renegade’s ‘MySky’ system.
Other rumors have also pointed to the 2018 Wrangler JL receiving an electric folding soft top roof and an optional hardtop with a panoramic glass moonroof. We also know a three-piece removable hardtop will be in store as well. Jeep fans were concerned the Wrangler was going to lose its quintessential removable roof, folding front windshield and removable doors, but so far it seems the Wrangler JL will stay true to Jeep form – save for a couple advancements here and there.
