Jeep is preparing to launch a new pickup by 2019 and the SUV-crazy brand recently shared some more information on the highly anticipated truck when speaking to PickupTrucks.com.
The Jeep pickup, which we learned today may receive the ‘Scrambler’ name, will first be shown in the summer of 2018, Allen said. It will have lots in common with the all-new Jeep Wrangler JL, which will debut later this year, and will be built alongside the latest version of the Jeep off-roader at Fiat Chrysler’s Toledo, Ohio plant.
Allen is keen to offer a four-door Jeep pickup to buyers as the four-door Wrangler Unlimited is the most popular Wrangler model and attracts buyers of all types – mainly families. With the new pickup, Jeep can steal typical pickup buyers from other brands along with your average Jeep Wrangler buyer and a family buyer.
“Giving our current customers more of what they want has always been one of our guiding strategies, and this pickup will be no different,” Allen said. “It won’t be too long [before] you’ll see quite a few Jeep families towing their modified Wranglers behind a Jeep pickup.”
