Just 3,300 Dodge Challenger SRT Demons will be built and with 808 horsepower on tap and plenty of demand, we expected the 9-second factory-built drag racer to cost a significant sum. The Demon will stay true to the American way of performance at a bargain, however, with Fiat Chrysler’s Tim Kuniskis telling Road & Track the Demon will be priced “well below,” the $100,000 mark.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat rings in at $64,195, so it’s reasonable to assume the Demon will probably cost around $80,000, give or take 5 grand. It’s available with optional extras such as a sunroof, a Harmon Audio system, leather front seats and the all-important Demon crate, which we assume would push the price into the $90,000 range if all were selected. Don’t forget the optional front passenger seat, rear passenger seats and trunk carpeting, which Dodge will sell back to you for $1 each.
We think the Demon would be a decent enough deal at $80k and would probably be a good investment as well. We get the feeling that’s why many of those 3,300 cars will be purchased, but let’s hope some owners are keen on getting them out to the track and using them to their full potential. Speaking of those 3,300 cars, 3,000 of them are tipped to go to the U.S. buyers, while another 300 will go north of the border to Canada. We’re sure a few muscle car enthusiasts abroad will find a way to get their hands on some via the grey market, too.
