The long-awaited arrival of the Chrysler Pacfica Hybrid is nearly here. After first showing the minivan at last year’s 2017 North American International Auto Show, the first customers to place an order for the world’s first hybrid minivan are receiving their vehicles.
To help placate the customers that had to wait for the minivan and as a “gesture of goodwill,” customers who ordered their Pacifica before March 30th, 2017, will receive either a free Level 2 charger for the minivan or free $500 Visa gift card. FCA estimates that it had received around 700 orders for the Pacifica Hybrid as of April 7th, 2017, according to The Detroit Free Press.
The Pacifica Hybrid is powered by an Atkinson cycle 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to an electronically variable transmission that houses a small electric motor. With its 16 kWh battery pack, the minivan can travel up to 33 miles on electric power alone and a total range of 566 miles. The lithium-ion battery pack can be charged from empty to full in around 2 hours using the Level 2, 240 volt charging system. Charging with the 120-volt wall charger takes 12-14 hours.
