An updated Maserati Ghibli sedan has been spotted undergoing cold weather tests ahead of an expected debut sometime later this year.
The Ghibli has remained mostly unchanged since it was introduced for the 2013 model year and will likely receive updates similar to those applied the larger Quattroporte for 2017. Those changes included a slight nip/tuck of the vehicle’s front and rear ends and the addition of new ‘GranLusso’ and ‘GranSport;’ trim lines. The cabin was also updated with Fiat Chrysler’s Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatible 8.4-inch UConnect touchscreen, new climate control switches and a rotary dial in the center console for function control.
The spy shots of the Ghibli prototype show a white example with camouflage covering its front and rear ends, good evidence the mid-size sedan will receive similar changes to the Quattroporte. The engine options, which consist of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged diesel, are expected to remain unchanged. New body colors, wheels, interior upholstery and other options will also likely be in store for the new car.
