Fast Jeeps are becoming a bit of a trend, it seems. We’ve seen numerous ‘drag Jeep’ builds surface on YouTube in recent years and the latest is this turbocharged Ford V8 powered Jeep CJ filmed by YouTube’s 1320 Video.
The owner of the Wild creation says it was just completed and 1320 caught him out at the drag strip with the Jeep for the first time. He’s still getting used to driving it and is probably in the midst of working on a good setup, so his races aren’t entirely successful, but the Jeep definitely looks fast. Even if it’s not the fastest vehicle on track, who’s going to put a guy down for building a drag Jeep?
Watch the Jeep pull 140 mph in the 1/8th mile with ease in the video embedded above. It’s likely to be the fastest new Jeep you’ll lay eyes on until someone modifies the upcoming Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to untold levels, which seems inevitable.
