If you’ve ever driven a car in a big city, you know how torturous it can be sitting in traffic. You’ve probably had fantasies of getting in a helicopter and flying over your fellow commuters, or perhaps daydreamed of getting on a motorcycle and lane splitting all the way to your destination. Fantasize no more, because California-based fabrication company A2Zfx has developed a solution for your traffic blues.
That solution is called the ‘HumRider’ and it’s essentially a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a set of hydraulic ‘stilts’ fitted to it. At the flick of a switch, the HumRider props itself up in the air on its hydraulic suspension and widens its track, leaving enough clearance between the underbody and the road to simply drive over the traffic jam you’ve so helpless become wrapped up in.
We can imagine travelling in the HumRider in gridlock Los Angeles traffic, activating its traffic-beating secret and receiving massively dirty looks from our fellow motorists. That wouldn’t be such a bad thing, either, considering the general disdain we carry for much of the world’s talentless, inattentive and downright dangerous commuters.
Watch the HumRider do its thing in the video embedded above.
