What do you think the man who invented Porsche’s venerable line of ‘GT’ badged cars (that includes the every GT3 and GT2 since the 996, the 4.0-liter RS, the Carrera GT the 911R etc.) drives when he’s not putting in laps at the Nurburgring in a 911? A Porsche Panamera or Cayenne would be a pretty decent guess, but alas, the man himself, Andreas Preuninger, loves his HEMI V8 powered Ram 1500.
Speaking to Road & Track on the floor of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Preuninger said he hauls dirt and does other tasks in his Ram. He loves his fast cars, obviously, but when you’ve had a (literal) fast paced work day, it’s nice to just wind down on the drive home.
“It’s got a single cab, Hemi V8, long bed, Magnaflow exhaust, and 22-inch wheels,” Preuninger told R&T. “I love it.”
“Sometimes you need a reset button.”
He laid further praise on the Ram, saying his yellow and black pickup, even shares a Porsche’s sense of unique character.
“It has to produce a smile on your face. You want to pat the roof when you get out.”
