Five vehicles were stolen from Fiat Chrysler dealer Bettenhausen Dodge Jeep in the eighth theft of its type in the Chicago area so far this year.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, five individuals entered the dealership at 11:20 p.m. after breaking a garage door. They then each entered a vehicle and drove off. One of the vehicles was recovered after it broke down a short while later. Police gave chase to the remaining four vehicles but were unable to stop them.
The four vehicles that remain at large are:
- A blue 2013 Dodge Charger with an Illinois license plate reading S134102
- A black 2015 Chrysler 200 with an Illinois license plate reading Z314994
- A blue 2015 Dodge Charger with an Illinois license plate reading 742270
- A white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee without a license plate
A very similar break-in occurred last week at Chicago’s Marino Chrysler Jeep Dodge. In that incident, a single individual broke a window before letting four others into the dealership. The thieves were unable to locate the keys to the cars they wanted to steal, however, and fled the scene before police arrived.
