Images showing what are purported to be the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL in four-door Unlimited form have leaked online via JLWranglerForums, revealing the all-new off-roader prior to its debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.
As with most things on the internet, you’re advised to take the validity images with a grain of salt, but we think we’re looking at the real deal. The vehicle pictured jives with what other intel we’ve received on the Wrangler JL, showing more rounded off door and window frame corners, less trapezoidal wheel arches and a taller, more raked windshield.
The images also reveal previously unknown facts about the Wrangler JL, such as wrap-around design taillamps, relocated hood latches, aerodynamically enhanced side mirrors, pull door handles (bye bye, awkward button) and front fender vents. Jeep loyalists can also now rest easy at night- the leaks show a fully removable roof, removable doors and a neat rear roll-cage that has been integrated into the A-pillar and B-pillar structures. We also spot some additional rear trunk space, which has been afforded be lengthening the Wrangler by a currently unknown amount.
The vehicle pictured is apparently a Rubicon model variant, which is evidenced by its vented hood, which is very similar to the Wrangler Rubicon JK’s, Rubicon-like wheels and contrasting black exterior accents. It’s not clear is some of the design features seen, such as the fender vents and black accented-grille, are exclusive to the Rubicon or will appear on other Wrangler JL variants.
