The latest teaser released for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has revealed the pony car will have a 15 percent larger tire contact patch and more than double the traction of the Challenger Hellcat on which it’s based.
That additional grip comes via 315/40R 18 Nitto NT05R street-legal drag radials that will sit at all four corners. A higher stall speed torque converter and 3.09 rear axle gears will also amplify the effect of the Demon’s massive (yet unknown) torque output and make for even harder launches. These upgrades allow the Demon to launch 35 percent harder than the Hellcat – which already boasts a low 0-60 mph time of 3.6-seconds.
So far we know the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be based on the 707 horsepower, 6.2-liter HEMI V8 powered Hellcat but will be lighter, have a huge ‘Air Grabber’ hood scoop and will come with a crate of bolt-on performance parts. The vehicle will debut in full at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in April but for now, check out the video above or visit www.ifyouknowyouknow.com for additional info.
