Fiat Chrysler is offering huge discounts on remaining Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 stock in the U.S., according to The Detroit Free Press.
FCA is currently offering 0% financing for up to 84 months on both the Dart and 200. Customers who’d prefer to see some cash on the hood are also being wooed with $3,500 in incentives being offered to buy or lease a Dart, while the 200 is being offered 15% off the advertised employee pricing.
Both the Dart and 200 went out of production last year after FCA decided to do away with the sedans due to their low profit margins. The death of the two cars has helped FCA create more production capacity in North America, allowing it to build more crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks, which are much profit heavy than small passenger cars.
Wes Lutz, manager of Extreme Dodge in Jackson, Michigan and vice chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), told The Detroit Free Press that some Darts and 200s are being offered at half their original MSRP. The cars, which were relatively well received in road test reviews, have proved to be strong money makers for Extreme Dodge.
“Most of them still have some of their new-car warranty left,” said Lutz. “The cars are out of production, but people know Chrysler and Dodge dealers will still be there to service them.”
“I’ve got rows of pre-owned 200s and Darts, and I’m gonna have more. I’d like to have a hundred of them.”
