The first and only pickup truck worthy of an SRT badge was the Dodge Ram SRT-10, which married the Viper’s insane V10 powertrain with the Ram 1500’s body. As far as we know, Fiat Chrysler has no plans to put another SRT-powered pickup into production, but if you’re curious what a current day performance pickup from Ram might look like than digital artist X-Tomi Design has you covered.
X-Tomi took the recently released Dodge Durango SRT and played with the rear end a bit in Photoshop to transform it from a three-row SUV into a pickup truck. On paper it sounds like a bit of an ugly mess, but as you can tell from the rendering above, X-Tomi’s execution is near-perfect and the Durango actually wears its pickup truck garb rather well.
The Durango SRT is powered by Fiat Chrysler’s 485 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, which is paired with the automaker’s XF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system. We’re sure there’s no shortage of Ram fans out there that would want that powertrain in a mid-size pickup truck, but unfortunately for them, such a vehicle only exists in digital renderings and their dreams. That is for now, at least.
