The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde has cemented itself as the strongest entry in the compact luxury performance segment. It has received numerous awards and glowing reviews from a variety of publications all over the world – with the latest bit of positive feedback on the Italian four-door coming via Car & Driver.
C&D got a hold of a Giulia QV and pitted the car against the Mercedes-AMG C63 S, BMW M3 and Cadillac ATS-V in a comparison test. The publication found the Giulia QV to be faster more engaging, and better sounding than its competition, which for most customers are the deciding factors in this segment. If that wasn’t enough, they also said it was more comfortable and stopped better and celebrated its smooth, quick-shifting eight-speed automatic.
The C63 S was described by C&D as a “baby S-Class,” for its stunning interior design, high quality materials and overall refinement, but placed the Giulia ahead of it due to its more engaging driving experience. The M3 was third, getting docked points for the optional Competition Package’s harsh ride and cabin noise, while the ATS-V took a deserved last for its poor interior design and harsh engine noise.
