Many small crossovers are built to satisfy the needs of young city dwellers or budding families. They are affordable, practical and economical and usually put very little emphasis on performance attributes such as acceleration, handling and steering feel. Then there’s the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
The Stelvio might be a crossover, but you’d be wrong in assuming that Alfa hasn’t tried its hardest to inject the high-riding family car with its DNA. It has most direct steering ratio in the segment (11.8:1), double wishbone front suspension and patented Alfa-link rear suspension and 50/50 weight distribution. If that wasn’t enough, it also boasts a carbon fiber driveshaft – which is the type of tech typically reserved for six-figure sports and supercars.
The Stelvio’s sporty character is promoted in a new spot for the all-new Alfa crossover entitled ‘Created To Excite Me.’ With the ad, Alfa’s clearly hoping to communicate to would-be crossover buyers that it’s offering is the only entry into the luxury crossover segment that will deliver an engaging driving experience.
