Fiat Chrysler debuted the 2017 Dodge Challenger Mopar Edition at the recent Chicago Auto Show. Dodge and SRT fans seemed to care little about the Challenger Mopar Edition’s debut and seeing as the Durango SRT was the true star of the Chicago show for FCA and the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is waiting in the midst, the small reaction to the car is hardly surprising.
That’s not to say the Challenger Mopar Edition doesn’t come with good content, however. A total of 160 vehicles will be built, 80 with a two-tone black and Contusion Blue exterior and 80 with a black and Billet Silver exterior. The attractive paint work also includes a neat hand-painted ‘392’ logo and is joined by special Mopar-edition badges and a Shaker hood scoop.
What we really like about the Challenger Mopar Edition, however, is the performance parts and powertrain options. The vehicle comes with a Hellcat-style headlight air intake system, a Mopar cold air intake and upper front strut tower braces and is only available with the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 and a six-speed manual transmission. Rounding out the performance add-ons are 4-piston Brembo brakes.
