Members of the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) have voted the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has their new Family Vehicle of the Year.
“Choosing a family vehicle is an important decision. It should be versatile, reliable, efficient and reasonably priced. MAMA members pooled their expertise and experience to select the best family vehicle from an excellent group of new and notably refreshed models, and the Chrysler Pacifica came out on top of them all,” said MAMA senior vice president Damon Bell.
MAMA journalists (including yours truly) had the opportunity to drive the 2017 Pacifica on a test loop during the organization’s Spring and Fall Rally events last year. The Pacifica impressed with its smooth, refined ride, powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine, easy to use Stow N’ Go seating and premium feeling (and looking) interior. Our sole complaint with the Pacifica lies in its somewhat expensive sticker price ($28,595), however now that Chrysler has now begun offering some incentives with the Pacifica, it’s certainly a less valid critique.
The 2017 Pacifica was announced as MAMA’s Family Vehicle of the Year yesterday morning at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. Other eligible candidates included the 2016 Mazda CX-9, 2017 Audi A4, 2016 Chevrolet Volt, 2016 Honda Civic and 2017 Honda Accord.
