A real Ferrari F40 is unattainable for 99% of the population, but for $13,000, this replica car based on a Pontiac Fiero could be had by just anyone. We’re just not sure if there’s anyone out there who actually want it.
It’s our knee jerk reaction to hate on replica cars, but this replica F40 is actually pretty well done. The fiberglass bodywork is accurate enough to fool most non-car savvy folk and other details such as the rear hatch, exhaust tips and wheels are spot-on. The interior is standard Fiero fare save for some Autozone gauges and glued on Ferrari logos, however.
If you’ve always wanted an F40 but know you’ll never have the money for one, you could contact the people over at NBS Auto in California and put an offer in on this replica. The F40’s venerable 478 horsepower 2.9 twin-turbocharged V8 engine is absent, but at least you’ll have your neighbors fooled.
