Earlier this month a white pre-production prototype for the new Dodge Durango SRT was spied testing prior to its debut and now an all black example of the performance SUV has been caught out and about by photographers.
The new photos don’t reveal too much about the Durango SRT we don’t already know, but they do serve as a reminder that the three-row SUV will be with us shortly. The performance Durango is expected to feature the same powertrain as the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, which consists of a 485 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
In the looks department, the Durango SRT will likely be set apart by an all-new front fascia with a larger lower intake grille and reworked upper grille, new LED running lights and foglamps and other performance add-ons such as SRT-style wheels and a new rear fascia. The Durango Shaker concept from the 2016 SEMA that signaled the Durango SRT’s arrival also featured a rear center-exit dual exhaust, similar to the original Grand Cherokee SRT’s.
We’re expecting Dodge to go SRT crazy at the 2017 New York International Auto Show and debut the Durango SRT alongside the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. That’s all set to go down in March, but for now ,check out the photos of the Durango SRT over at SEMA.org.
