Fiat Chrysler had planned to slowly reveal parts of the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon SRT in the coming weeks before pulling the sheet from the whole thing in April at the New York auto show. Actor Vin Diesel may have now accidentally ruined the fun, though, posting a video to Facebook live that appears to show the Hellcat-shaming Demon lurking in the background.
The video, which we’ve embedded above, shows a pair of silver, widebody Dodge Challengers with black hoods featuring a large single-inlet hood scoop. The vehicles look exactly like those spotted in the trailer for Fast and Furious 8. The trailer, released earlier this year, sparked speculation that the widebody Challenger was going to feature in the film and this leak all but confirms the theories.
Revealing the Challenger seen here as the 2018 Demon are its small, deep dish wheels. A GIF posted Dodge’s www.ifyouknowyouknow.com teaser site for the Demon shows the exact same wheels performing a burnout in a loop sequence, and we’ve managed to embed it here for easy comparison.
We still don’t know anything about the 2018 Demon’s powertrain or performance specifications, but it’s safe to say that what you see here is the car Dodge plans to debut in NY this April.
