A 1974 Plymouth Road Runner featured on the History Channel’s ‘Detroit Steel’ TV show has been stolen, Fox 2 Detroit reports.
The car was stolen from Mobsteel, a Detroit-based shop that is the subject of the automotive themed reality show. Police believe the thieves entered the shop sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday to rob the customized Mopar – which was just shortly after the show aired.
Detroit Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the matte black and yellow Road Runner to come forward with information. We imagine the thieves plan on stripping it of its valuable aftermarket parts and parting it out. After all, you can’t really drive around in a stolen one-of-a-kind muscle car that had its build process documented on national television.
Give FOX 2’s report on the theft a watch and if you live in the Metro Detroit area, be sure to keep an eye out for the car or its parts on the roads or on Craigslist.
