When dealing with 1,000 horsepower, it’s not uncommon for something to break every now and then, as is perfectly demonstrated in this video of a 1,000 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat disintegrating its rear axle following a hard launch.
This minor ordeal was caught on video by YouTube’s BigKleib34 at Maryland’s Cecil County Dragway. The 1,000HP Hellcat in question was built by High Horse Performance and is the well-known nine-second car that featured on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine.
We’re sure this is just a minor hiccup in the record-setting Hellcat’s career and we’re expecting to see it back on the track shortly. For now, you can watch it self destruct its rear end in the video above.
