Ferrari recently held its Finali Mondiali racing event in Daytona International Speedway in Florida. The event played host to the final Ferrari Challenge race of the season as well as other on-track events such as demos by its XX and Corsi Clienti customer racing programs.
The automaker also brought along its two Formula 1 drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, to Daytona to give some lucky attendees hot laps around the legendary south Florida racetrack. Among those lucky enough to hitch a ride around the track was Hennessey Performance Engineering’s John Hennessey, who went for a lap with Raikkonen in a 488 GTB and filmed the once-in-a-lifteimte opportunity to for YouTube.
Raikkonen is as calm and collected as ever giving Hennessey a lap of Daytona, but despite the cold demeanor he sometimes shoes on television, it seems the Fin can’t wipe the smile from his face as he gives Hennessey the ride of his life. He seems to appreciate Hennessey’s American-accented commentary and even laughs a bit when he calls him a “man of few words. Maybe Kimi should drive one of John’s Vipers the next time he’s in Texas.
Check out the lap in the video embedded above.
