Dakota Customs is an aftermarket tuning shop specializing in HEMI V8 swaps for the Jeep Wrangler. They offer conversion kits and installs for just about any HEMI V8 engine, but they’ve recently upped the ante, offering to drop the insane 707 horsepower Hellcat HEMI V8 under the hood of the off-roader.
The shop already has one working Hellcat Wrangler prototype and recently showed what it’s capable of by uploading a video to YouTube of it shredding a field to pieces. The promotional clip also shows the Jeep performing some pulls on the highway and doing a couple of high speed fly bys, showing it’s just as fast on-road as it is off-road.
Dakota Customs’ will drop a Hellcat in your Wrangler for $56,000, which doesn’t include the price of the Jeep itself. That’s pricey, but it’s not like Jeep is going to drop a Hellcat V8 into a Wrangler and sell it as a production vehicle anytime soon. Mopar doesn’t sell the Hellcat V8 as a crate engine, either, so unless you have a line on a totaled Hellcat with a running engine there’s not too many other options.
The sticker shock might subside when you see what the shop’s 707 horsepower Wrangler is capable of, so be sure to check it in the video above.
