Fiat Chrysler will hold its first-ever press conference at the annual Consumer Electronics Show next year, using the opportunity to tout its new UConnect 4 infotainment system, UConnect theater and the new UConnect Access App for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
UConnect 4 builds on the success of FCA’s well received third-generation UConnect system with a faster startup time, enhanced processing power, a new 8.4-inch touch screen with touch gestures, sharper graphics and smart phone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The UConnect Theater system, available in the Pacifica minivan, offers rear-seat entertainment for passengers. The two 10-inch touch screens can play movies and play built in games and will enable users to plug in their smartphone or tablet. HDMI ports are also offered on the screens for plugging in external devices such as a gaming system. As a technology concept, FCA will show off a version of its UConnect theater system at CES that enables live video streaming.
Other tech to be touted by FCA at CES will includs the various Pacifica Hybrid-exclusive technologies. These consist of the Pacifica Hybrid’s UConnect system, which features ‘Hybrid Electric Pages’ that relays information related to power flow, driving history and charge scheduling. The system’s UConnect Access app also allows users to check their vehicle’s state of charge range and estimated recharge time from their smartphone or tablet.
CES 2017 will open to the public on January 5th, 2017 and remain open through to January 8th.
