In the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Fiat Chrysler’s UConnect infotainment system features a remote Access App that can send real-time information on the vehicles charge status, battery life and much more to the owner’s smartphone.
The UConnect Access App, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, will allow Pacifica Hybrid owners to check the state of charge of their vehicle’s battery, view the estimated vehicle range, and estimated recharge time, get charge status updates and also schedule when they want the charging to begin.
In addition to these various battery and powertrain information pages, the app will also enable users to remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, remotely start the vehicle and send destinations to the Uconnect navigation with ‘Send ‘n Go’. The Access App is able to perform these functions with other FCA US vehicles as well, the automaker notes.
The Uconnect system in the Pacifica Hybrid, UConnect 4.0, is the latest version of the infotainment technology and is controlled via an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The large center display is also joined by a 7-inch TFT gauge cluster display that is capable of relaying fuel usage and other important information to the driver.
The 2017 Pacifica Hybrid plug-in is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that is paired to electronically variable transmission. The transmission houses an electric motor, which receives its juice via a 16 kWh lithium ion battery pack. The minivan can travel 33-miles on electric power only, which according to EPA estimates is 84 MPGe.
