Electric vehicle startup Faraday Future has generated quite a bit of buzz for a automaker that has yet to produce an actual car. It caught the world’s attention when it debuted its radical single-seater concept at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show and has kept the the hype alive by intermittently teasing advancements within the company ever since.
The latest peep out of the mysterious and apparently trouble EV start-up has come in the form of a YouTube video. The video is a 20-second preview to a full video the company plans to release shortly that will show its EV concept drag racing against a Bentley Bentayga and Ferrari 488 GTB. We know how these things go: the EV uses its instantaneous torque to assert its dominance over the pathetic and lesser internal combustion powered car, embarrassing it and those silly enough to actually go and buy it.
We’re joking, of course. Except for the part about ICE car losing. Or maybe this video will be a breath of fresh air and show the EV accelerating at a reasonable pace so as to not drain the battery and induce range anxiety that is then followed by a message on the screen telling us how silly it is to promote electric car tech by showing us how fast it is. Maybe in a perfect world.
We’re expecting the full video to be released sometime this week, but in the meantime, check out the preview embedded above.
