As with any brand new automobile, the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia and high performance Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde are jam-packed with state of the are technologies designed to help reduce the chances of an accident, keep the driver safe in the event of an accident and also help the driver access all the performance the engine, transmission and rear-wheel drive based Giorgio platform have to offer.
The technology Alfa is most keen to point out on the Giulia is its Full-speed Forward Collision Warning Plus system, which will slow or bring the vehicle to a stop if it detects a frontal collision may be imminent. Other safety technologies offered on the luxury four-door include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path Detection, and front and rear park assist.
On the performance side of the things is Alfa’s DNA drive mode selector, which, depending on the mode selected, will adjust the engine, suspension, transmission and throttle settings. The standard DNA selector, standard on all Giulia models, allows the driver to choose between a fuel-saving ‘Eco’ mode, a standard ‘Natural’ mode and a performance-oriented Dynamic mode. The DNA Pro system, offered only in the Giulia QV, offers the same settings but adds a high performance Race mode.
