The 2017 Fiat 500X has officially launched in select European markets, bringing with it new body colors, new-look 17-inch alloy wheels, an updated interior and two new diesel engine options.
Fiat says the most interesting innovation with the 2017 500X is the addition of its 1.3-liter Multijet diesel and 1.6-liter eTorq diesel engines. The 1.3-liter engine produces 95 horsepower and is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.6-liter diese produces 110 horsepower is available offered the same transmission options. Both are available with the standard city-look 500X or the more rugged 500X Cross and Cross Plus.
Exterior updates include new skid plates for Cross and Cross Plus models, colder new 17-inch wheels for Lounge versions, colder daytime running lights and three new exterior colors: Blue Jeans (pictured) Donatello Bronze and Cappuccino Beige. The cabin has been mildly revised with new trim materials, new anthracite fabric seats for Pop and Popstar models and new Cappucino and Black leather upholsteries.
Fiat also notes a range of Mopar accessories are available with the 2017 500X including colored door mirror covers and trim pieces, roof and bonnet decals and an assortment of alloy wheels. Those looking for a more upscale look may also opt for Mopar’s Chrome Xtra pack, which adds chrome door mirror caps, fog light bezels and trim.
Pricing for the 2017 Fiat 500X has yet to be announced. The updated compact crossover is expected to arrive at European Fiat dealers shortly.
