The Dodge Viper ACR undisputedly offers one of the most visceral driving experiences of any modern day automobile. Even when compared to other track-bred supercars, the ACR stands out as a hairy chested, unforgiving brute of a thing.
CNET’s Roadshow learned that lesson during a recent three-way track test of the Viper ACR, Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Ford Mustang GT350R. When in the presence of two of its strongest rivals, Roadshow’s hosts found the ACR to still be the most intimidating and taxing car to drive. It’s more powerful than the Mustang and its six-speed manual transmission commands a bit more attention than the Porsche’s dual-clutch automatic. Whether you find that a positive or negative trait depends on who you are as a person, we suppose.
So did the Viper’s raw character thwart its chances at winning Roadshow’s triple test, or did that only help it claim the crown? You’ll have to watch the video review above to find out.
