If you’ve been eager to build your very own Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan but aren’t so interested in the admittedly manic 505 horsepower Quadrifoglio Verde version, we have some good news for you: Alfa has launched the online configurator for the standard 2.0-liter petrol and 2.2-liter diesel versions of the four-door sedan.
The configurator is for European-spec Giulias only which, unlike the U.S. version, will be offered with the 2.2-liter diesel engine. In the UK, the Giulia is offered in three trim levels: Giulia, Giulia Super and Giulia Speciale. Giulia and Giulia Super models are offered with both the 2.0-liter turbocharged four and 2.2-liter diesel, while the Speciale is offered only with the diesel.
With our example car, we aimed to achieve a sporty look without breaking the bank. We started by choosing the Giulia Super (£ 30,880) trim level with the 200 horsepower 2.0-liter and chose classic Alfa Red exterior paint. We opted for the black cloth seats with Tan leather surrounds rather than the full Tan leather seats as we like the Daytona-style seat inserts and rounded out the major styling decisions by siding with the 10-spoke 18-inch Turbine wheels (£ 750) with run-flat tires (£205)
Other options we decided on included the Sport Pack (£ 975) which includes aluminum interior trim, a sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and Bi-Xenon headlamps and the Performance pack, which adds aluminum shift paddles, Alfa’s SDC active suspension and a limited slip differential. We also indulged in black brake calipers (£250), tinted rear windows (£275), electronically adjustable seats (£650) and mirrors (£275), a sunroof (£1,250) and a chromatic rearview mirror (£75). The grand total: £ 37,785.
