Testing continues for the Dodge Challenger Hellcat ADR ahead of its debut sometime next year, with Motor1 capturing photos of a Plum Crazy purple prototype driving in Michigan this week.
The Hellcat ADR’s arrival was revealed earlier this year and a prototype for the muscle car was spotted for the first time shortly thereafter. The ADR, which is rumored to stand for ‘American Drag Racer’, is expected to feature the 707 horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the standard Hellcat, but will benefit from more grip thanks to a wide body style and much wider front and rear tracks.
It’s a possibility Dodge will up the output of its Hellcat HEMI in the ADR to around 750 horsepower or beyond, but we’ll only be able to say forsure once it debuts. Speaking of a debut, it could happen by as early as next spring – potentially at the 2017 New York Auto Show in March.
