Fiat Chrysler is hoping to drum up some interest in the outgoing Jeep Wrangler JK by releasing several new special edition variants before the new Wrangler JL replaces the outgoing model in mid-2017.
According to Automotive News, Jeep shared details on two new special edition Jeep Wrangler during a meeting in November: the 2017 Wrangler Sport Freedom edition and 2017 Wrangler Sahara Winter edition.
Both of the limited-run Jeeps will reach dealers in December, with sales of the Sport Freedom Edition to cease in February and sales of the Winter Edition continuing through to Spring 2017.
The Sport Freedom Edition will boast ‘Freedom’ star decals, American flag fender decals and badging, 18-inch Sahara wheels, a new heavy-duty differential cover and more. The Winter Edition will be set apart with new LED headlamps and fog lamps, remote start, off-road rock rails, a standard hardtop, body decals and other special badging and accents.
Four more Jeep Wrangler JK special editions will also arrive in 2017. They include the, Sport Big Bear edition, Sahara Chief edition and Sahara Smoky Mountain edition. AN didn’t provide information on these special edition models, however it’s understood they will be released at different times throughout the year to help placate Jeep buyers until the all-new model arrives in dealers late next year or in early 2018.
