Italian car shoppers will soon be able to purchase a Fiat 500, 500L and Panda through online retailer Amazon.
The three vehicles will be available for purchase on Amazon at discounts 33 percent greater than found in dealerships. Buyers will still have to visit their local Fiat dealer to complete the sale, but just about every other part of the buying process will be done online, from choosing your trim packages and specifications to finalizing a price.
The decision to sell cars online was likely made out of a desire to make Fiat more competitive in its home market. It already enjoys strong market share in the region, but if buying a car is as simple as clicking a ‘Buy Now’ button online, consumers may be even more likely to side with Fiat over the competition.
Fiat says online shoppers’ car orders will be ready about two weeks after they first make the online purchase.
