The Ferrari 488 Spider offers the benefit of having a retractable folding hardtop roof, however the roof’s design pushed Ferrari engineers to use a conventional engine cover on the supercar rather than the 488 GTB’s rear window.
Luckily, German tuning company Capristo has now manufactured a solution. Capristo’s new engine cover for the 488 Spider features a carbon fiber frame and a plexiglass window, allowing 488 Spider owners to show off the car’s twin-turbo V8 to passersby.
Capristo sold a similar aftermarket engine cover for the Ferrari 458 Italia, which proved to be rather popular. This version should be just as well-liked among owners of the latest mid-engine V8 Ferrari, but at €8,990 ($9,840), it’s no bargain. Then again, woul you really put inexpensive aftermarket parts on your Ferrari?
