Fiat has marked its partnership with Yamaha’s MotoGP team by lending its styling expertise to the Japanese brand’s new XSR900 café racer.
The Yamaha XSR900 Abarth features a carbon fiber nose cowling and rear seat cowling, a drop handlebar and an Akrapovic exhaust system. A grey suede seat and matching grey paintjob along with red Yamaha ‘Speed Blocks’ and Abarth logos round out the changes.
The XSR900 is powered by an 847cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine with a six-speed transmission. Unlike many Abarth-branded cars, the XSR900 Abarth receives drive from the same powerplant as the standard version of the bike. Apart from the titanium exhaust system, the Italian firm has applied cosmetic enhancements only.
Pricing and availability for the 2017 Yamaha XSR900 Abarth has yet to be announced. Just 695 examples will be built.
