Fiat has added a new optional engine to its Fiat Toro pickup, along with a stealthy new ‘Black Jack Edition’ model variant.
The new four-cylinder engine, referred to by Fiat Chrysler as the Toro Freedom Flex 2.4, produces 186 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The Freedom Flex is of particular interest to Brazilian consumers as it is capable of running on 100 percent ethanol. It also comes equipped with standard start-stop technology, helping to boost fuel economy by up to 20 percent.
All 2.4-liter equipped Fiat Toros will come with a tire pressure monitoring system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and 16-inch alloy wheels. The engine is also available with the new ‘Black Jack Edition’ unveiled in Sao Paulo, which adds LED daytime running lights, dark 17-inch wheels, black exterior and interior trim pieces and leather upholstery.
