The 1970 Plymouth ‘HEMI ‘Cuda’ always becomes the topic of conversation whenever the Barracuda is brought up, but we’ve stumbled across an almost as rare Barracuda variant for sale on eBay that’s just begging to be restored.
The seller of the car, which is a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda 383 Gran Coupe, says they’ve had this car for years and have yet to touch it, so it’s time for it to go to a new home. There were apparently only 258 Big Block-equipped Barracuda Gran Coupes built in 1971 and only 161 of them had the 383 engine, making this non-HEMI equipped Barracuda a surprisingly uncommon example.
Judging by the photos included in the listing, this Barracuda is the perfect candidate for a restoration. The body is rusty but many of the original trim pieces and parts remain intact and the body underside and wheel wells are in great shape for a winter-driven New Jersey car. The owner even got the engine to turn over after years of sitting.
Bidding sits at $13,200 at the time of writing with just over 2 days left before it expires, however the reserve has yet to be met. If you’re looking for a project car, check out the listing over on eBay.
