The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has made the shortlist cut for the North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) awards’ ‘Utility’ category.
The Pacifica, which debuted earlier this year at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, will be up against the Mazda CX-9 and Jaguar F-Pace crossovers for the NACTOY distinction.
In a Detroit News article announcing this year’s NACTOY finalists, NACTOY judge Henry Payne said Chrysler has “reinvented the minivan with its sleek, multi-functional Pacifica.”
The Pacifica has been lauded for its ride quality, quiet and comfortable interior, and overall refinement. The Pacifica Hybrid, which debuted alongside the Pacifica earlier this year, is also the first and only hybrid minivan.
NACTOY judges will announce the respective winners of the Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year categories at NAIAS 2017 in Detroit in January.
