Ram debuted the 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition at this year’s State Fair of Texas. The Lone Start-state themed truck offers exclusive equipment such as chrome exterior appointments and ‘Lone Star Silver Edition’ badges, the latter of which were stolen off of the display truck at the fair, according to TFLTruck.
The Lone Star Silver Edition’s unique ‘wave mesh grille’ boasts a small Lone Star Silver Edition grille badge. A source close to the matter told TFLTruck the grille badge was knicked off of the static display model at the fair, along with the usual Ram badge that sits in the crosssection of the four-part grille. We knew Texas loved their trucks – but not this much.
Luckily the other special Ram to debut at the Texas State Fair, the Ram Rebel TRX, was left unharmed throughout its stay at the show. Any vandalism done to the one-off TRX concept would have been much more expensive and considering the TRX is a 575 horsepower supercharged trail runner, much more upsetting for car and truck enthusiasts like you and I.
No witnesses have stepped forward to aid local law enforcement in their search for the Lone Star badge thief.
